Rulebase Summary
Capitalize specific catalog titles of courses, which often include course numbers and proper nouns — Introduction to Economics 101, Advanced French Composition. Do not capitalize the names of general subject areas — she studied biology, he teaches math — although capitals are still used for names of countries or languages within those descriptions.

A. I was enrolled in introduction to economics 101.
A. I was enrolled in Introduction to Economics 101.
A specific catalog course title is capitalized.
A. She studied Biology and Chemistry in college.
A. She studied biology and chemistry in college.
General subject areas are not capitalized — only specific course titles are.

Capitalize the specific catalog titles of courses. These titles often include course numbers and proper nouns (Advanced Surveying and Computations II, General Chemistry I, Introduction to Computer Science). Do NOT use capitals for names of general subject areas (history of Brazil, psychology, civil engineering, fire science) — although capitals will still be used for names of countries or languages if mentioned within them.
